This ring is a size 9

Amethyst Stalactite resembles a flower, and this one in particular has tiny rainbows throughout its surface. It really is a beautiful statement piece.

Amethyst has been revered since ancient times for its beautiful rich purple color and for being one of the most powerful healing stones.
It is a stone of protection and purification. It can be an aid to curbing overindulgence and giving up bad habits. Historically travelers have carried Amethyst for protection. In Greek the word “Amethyst” translates to “not drunken.” It is I said to be an aid for people who are trying to remain sober.
It is also said that Amethyst is useful when trying to improve intellectual and cerebral thought because it stimulates the crown chakra.
Regardless of whether any of that is true, Amethyst is stunningly beautiful.
And, if you were born in February then you are lucky enough to call Amethyst your birthstone
Stalactite is a rare formation of Amethyst, that when used in jewelry is almost always seen in slices like this. It naturally circular shape represents a circle of protection.

This ring was created through a process called electroforming, using only high-quality materials and stones.
After designing and creating each piece I add conductive paint to the areas that I want to plate. The piece is then put into an electro bath, where it collects it’s copper plating through a little bit of electricity and magic. This can take 24+ hours, and each piece takes a total of a few days to create from start to finish. Electroforming is an art, it is unpredictable, and every creation is a labor of love. The end result is a beautiful piece of jewelry that is as unique as you are.

Copper oxidizes, which means over time the copper will darken and change color depending on where you live, and how often you wear it. To combat this, avoid getting the ring wet. Using the polishing cloth that I include in your package will bring it back to its original shine.

Will a copper ring turn my skin green?
Not necessarily. as this does not happen to all people. Copper being a pure hypo-allergenic metal is extremely reactive to its environment. Particularly to higher PH values. If you have a body chemistry that is higher in PH, then it is likely that you will experience the harmless though annoying green finger that can come from a copper ring. This can easily be removed just by washing your hands. I also find that your body will adapt to the copper as it absorbs it through your jewelry, and that the marks will stop appearing the more you wear copper.
The green marks are more likely to happen when you sweat, but again they are easily washed off. For more information about copper, and how to care for your jewelry please go to the FAQ section of my shop.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    About Copper Jewelry

Copper has been used in jewelry since ancient times. It is a pure elemental metal, and as such it is believed by some to have health benefits. Copper was highly prized be the Ancient Egyptians, and was prominently used in their jewelry
I create copper jewelry by using a process called electroforming. It allows me to make truly unique and magical jewelry, but it takes multiple days to create each piece. The jewelry you will receive has been plated for an average of 24hrs. making it strong and lasting. Due to the nature of electroforming there will always be imperfections, divots, or sometimes bubbles in the metal. These are not flaws; they are the characteristics that makes each piece one of-a-kind.

    How Copper Reacts to Skin

Slight discoloration can occur on the skin when someone wears copper. The marks wash off easily with soap and water, but their appearance can be telling about your body’s chemistry (in particular your pH level). This reaction can indicate that your skin has become acidic and has dissolved copper from the bracelet faster than the body can absorb it. This usually happens when we sweat, are stressed, experience dietary changes, or have a poor diet; think junk food/processed food. Green marks might also appear when the body is deficient in copper, and therefore it is trying to obtain it a rate faster than it can be absorbed. This is actually a great way to gauge whether you need to change your diet, increase your water intake,or avoid stress.

    Care Instructions

Copper jewelry will last a lifetime with the proper care. I recommend you remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or washing your hands. Water can accelerate oxidization.

All of my pieces are sealed with professional lacquer. However, as the sealant wears off with constant wear, you can easily reseal the copper yourself with clear nail polish.

Copper may tarnish as it reacts to your skin and your environment, but it can easily be cleaned. Copper will never rust or weaken.

Always store your jewelry in a cool dry place.

    Cleaning and Polishing Your Jewelry

I include a polishing cloth with every order. It will remove tarnish and bring the copper back to a warm rose gold color. The cloth I include is effective for heavy polishing, but please be aware that if your piece has a patina, that the cloth may affect the colors.

If you need another polishing cloth, please contact me. I will be happy to send you another.

A Note About Caring For Certain Gemstones

Please be aware that some gems need a little extra care.

The following stones can degrade when exposed to water or excessive sunlight: Turquoise (most notably) Kunzite, Amethyst, Opal, Larimar, Fluorite, Rose Quartz, Aura Quartz, Sapphire…. Just to name a few.

Often sunlight can fade a gem’s color or make it brittle over time. Kunzite is a good example of this and should be kept out of the sunlight.

Water damages porous stones, such as Opal.

    Processing Time

I will begin working on your order immediately, however it may take up to a week for me to ship it out.

Custom orders will take longer as I have to create your piece before shipping. Custom pieces may take up to 2-4 weeks in production, but my goal is always to have them ready as soon as possible.
